You are warmly invited to join the Commercial Bar Association of Victoria for a dinner at one of Melbourne’s great institutions, Chin Chin on Thursday 28 April 2021, a short stroll from the conference welcome drinks at the Old Melbourne Gaol (scheduled from 5:30-7:30pm).
Cocktails will be served upstairs at Chin Chin from 7:45pm, followed by a seated banquet of South-East Asian inspired cuisine in a private dining space in one of Melbourne’s iconic venues at 125 Flinders Lane.
Numbers are limited, hence early expressions of interest are encouraged. The anticipated cost for dinner and drinks throughout the evening is $150 per person, to be confirmed closer to the date. We look forward to welcoming you and hope that you can join what promises to be a wonderful evening.

Longrain – 44 Little Bourke Street
Members attending the Conference in person are warmly invited to an inaugural rainbow and inclusive dinner with LGBTIQ+ colleagues, allies, and friends on Thursday 28 April 2021 at 8pm (following the keynote speakers and ABA welcome cocktail event at the Old Melbourne Gaol). Sectional Dinner – Tax Section Dinner
Sunda – 18 Punch Lane, Melbourne
Following the conclusion of welcome drinks at the Old Melbourne Gaol, the Australian Bar Association and Tax Bar Association are co-hosting the Tax Section Dinner on Thursday, 28 April 2022 at 7.45pm at Sunda, 18 Punch Lane a 750m stroll away.
Sunda draws on the flavours of Southeast Asia – the tectonic plate it was named after – marrying these with native Australian ingredients in a sophisticated, distinctive interpretation of modern Australian cuisine. Sunda is regularly featured in various Top 50, Top 100 as well as good food guides and was Gourmet Traveller’s best new restaurant of 2018.
Guests in attendance will include speakers and panellists from the Tax Section, including members of the judiciary. Attendance at the Tax Section Dinner is strictly limited to 36 guests in total, so please RSVP as soon as possible. Reservations, other than for panellists and speakers, will be allocated on a first in line basis. Please note, you must be attending the conference in order to attend the Tax Section Dinner. Dinner, inclusive of drinks, will be priced at $200 per head.
